I wish someone would tell me
What I have done wrong.
Why I am always caged up
And left all alone.
They seemed so glad to have me
When I was a kit.
We'd romp and play all day
I would not tire a bit.
They agreed to care for me and train me
For I was their friend
They swore they'd never leave me
They'd love me until the end.
But now they have no time
All new friends I suppose,
You see all I asked for was love
Why that was not enough, lord only knows.
But now I am at a ferret shelter
Why oh so much to do.
At first I was afraid to get close
You would be to.
But oh the joy of my new mom,
For she does love me so,
And I love her to
The bond between us will grow
I was a lucky one
I found a safe place
But not all ferret find their way
Into a loving embrace
So, for all you who give
Ferrets a second chance
I wish I could share with you
A very special ferret dance.
I am glad someone has love
And wants to share it,
For now I can say
I will always be my moms friend.
The ferret
